Join Vancouver Opera and Pacific Opera Victoria for a free presentation of VOICES in Concert and The Flight of the Hummingbird, an original opera for all ages.

From arias to duets, and from timeless classics of centuries past to irresistible modern melodies, VOICES in Concert will feature opera favorites for the whole family to enjoy.

The Flight of the Hummingbird is an enchanting original opera and an urgent call—in fable form—to do what we can to save our planet. The animals of the forest feel helpless in the face of a raging fire, but Dukdukdiya, the Hummingbird, inspires them to work together to save their beautiful home. Based on an indigenous parable that found its way through pre-contact trade routes from the Quechuan people of South America all the way north, becoming well-known in Haida culture, The Flight of the Hummingbird sends a powerful message to adults and kids alike: a strong community can turn individual acts into a meaningful movement; only by working together can we save our planet from climate crisis.
